Ooch Open House

25 Years of Camp Oochigeas

2008 marks an exciting year for Camp Oochigeas; this year, we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary! 25 years ago, a group of individuals saw the need for a pediatric oncology camp and began to put their vision into action. We have come a long way since the first session began in 1984 at Geneva Park, lasting one week and with approximately 30 campers attending. Now, 25 years later, we offer 8 weeks of residential camp, 5 sessions, year-long in-city and in-hospital programs, Day Camp, Up-Stream outdoor adventure program, and have our very own permanent site that continues to expand and improve to serve our campers better. In fact, Camp Ooch offers more programs than there are days in the year! In 2008, we expect to have over 300 volunteers and over 250 campers attending camp. What an incredible achievement!

Because this year marks such an important landmark for Ooch history, we wanted to commemorate our anniversary in a lasting and memorable way. We are creating 25th anniversary projects to have a collection of memories that every member of the Ooch community can have to look back on.

To bring these wonderful projects into reality, we need your help! We are looking for submissions to be used. These can be photos, artwork, button flair, stories, favourite memories, or just about anything you feel represents your Ooch experience.

If you are interested in sending in a submission, please contact the Ooch office at 416.961.6624 or e-mail at 25th@ooch.org.
You can also mail in your submissions to:

Please mark if you would like your submissions to be returned. If you are submitting photos, we kindly ask you to indicate the names of the people included.

If you know of someone who would be interested in sending in submissions, feel free to pass this information onto them.

We thank you again for being a part of the history of Ooch for the past 25 years and for helping it become the magical place it is today.
