Ooch Facilities
Our campsite is a gorgeous 400-acre property on a private lake in the Muskoka region, near Parry Sound, roughly two and a half hours north of Toronto. And it has everything a child needs for a magical summer adventure, including a campfire point, gently sloped beach, vast waterfront and large playing fields. Rolling hills, pine trees, rock faces, and a sparkling lake create the perfect natural backdrop for the nurturing experience of camp. The camp is close to many provincial parks providing options for older children to participate in our canoe-tripping program, which consists of supervised overnight canoe-trips. All facilities are wheel chair accessible, and staff-driven all-terrainvehicle is available at all times to help those in need of additional support moving around the site.
Med Shed
Medical facilities are located on our property. A pediatric oncologist and three oncology nurses from The Hospital for Sick Children are onsite and available 24 hours a day during residential camp programs to administer expert medical treatment. All medications are secured in the “Med Shed” and oncology staff is in place to administer expert medical treatment. We remain the only camp facility in Ontario to offer IV chemotherapy and blood and platelet transfusions onsite. Children who might otherwise be left out of the camp experience can receive treatment.
Residences
All campers and staff live in modern residence-style buildings that have electricity, washrooms and showers. Each room houses 4-6 campers of the same age group. Counsellors occupy rooms directly across the hall from their campers, ensuring constant supervision.
Dining Hall
A professional catering company provides three nutritionally balanced “camper-approved” meals a day. Fruit snacks are available all day and plenty of stops at the camp water stations are encouraged. All meals are eaten family style in cabin groups.
Barny the Barn
The Barn is our multi-purpose, fully accessible indoor activity space. It allows us to ensure we have an accessible space that can accommodate the whole camp. As well, it provides a winterized indoor activity space for rainy-day or cold weather programs.
