Volunteering at Camp
It is thanks to our volunteer community (95% of our staff) that over 250 children affected by cancer can experience the wonder of camp, build confidence, challenge themselves, and make new friends each summer. It is these life skills that help our campers feel strong even when their bodies might not.
By volunteering at Camp Oochigeas not only you will make a difference in a child’s life, you will also make new friends, become part of a dynamic team, and have the opportunity to learn and share your skills. Our volunteer community comes from all walks of life – teachers, students, artists, and lawyers to name a few – and range in age from 19-60. Each volunteer brings something different to Camp Ooch but all share the desire to offer a tremendous amount of love and support to these amazing kids.

Here is what a few of our volunteers have said about their Ooch experience:
My experience exceeded my expectations! I am so proud to be part of a group that brings happiness and fun to the lives of these children. I am also incredibly grateful for the many friends that I’ve met – Ryan, 27
The world would be a better place if everyone could experience Camp Ooch – Steve, 46.
This has been a very life changing experience and one that I could not have envisioned. It was fun, emotional, thought provoking and gave me a different perspective on my life and the world around me – Anthony, 31
My experience at Ooch this summer was nothing short of incredible. I’ve never been in such a positive and energetic atmosphere where no one is judged and everyone is so accepting of one another. I was so moved by the campers and their stories, and all of the staff I worked with were amazing. – Cristina, 21
