Fundraising Tips and Ideas
Personalize your messages and your fundraising page
Donors like to know why Ooch is special to you and why they should support you- post photos on your fundraising page and share your stories. Here are steps to updating your page.
Send emails to friends, family and coworkers
Get the word out! Let your friends, family and co-workers know what you’re doing and give them the opportunity to support you.
Online communities (Facebook,Twitter, Instagram) are a great way of connecting with friends, family and colleagues.
Post your personal fundraising page, share photos, and make donation requests- you'll be surprised by the response that you'll get!
Here are some helpful tips.
Thank your supporters
Ensure you thank your supporters for their donations. Log on to your personal page to do this.
Be clear in your ask to supporters
Make sure there is a call to action in each of your emails. People like to know what the next steps are for them to support you.
Collect offline donations
For those not wanting to make an online donation, keep this pledge form handy to collect offline donations and be sure all information is filled in correctly so that your supporters can receive a tax receipt.
Host a dinner party
Host a dinner party for friends and family and ask for a donation in return. At your dinner party explain what you’re doing and why Camp Ooch is important to you!
Use your talents and sell
Whether it’s making bracelets or cookies, think of a hobby or interest and turn it into a product that can be sold. For example, one special fundraiser sold bookmarks with the proceeds going to Camp Ooch; another fundraiser had the idea of baking and sold cookies to their colleagues.
Double your fundraising by getting your employer involved (corporate matches)
Ask your workplace if a Corporate Matching Program exists in your office. Should you require information from Camp Oochigeas, please contact Kristyna at firstname.lastname@example.org
The impact of your gift could be doubled simply by asking!
Weddings, Birthdays, Holiday Gifts
In lieu of gifts or party favors request friends and family to support your fundraising goal.
